# Tone of voice skill, from your email

Besides the blank intake, you can have your writing voice derived from material you already have, such as your sent emails, proposals or messages. There is a skill for that. In Claude and Cowork the skill is called "brand-voice" (also known as "guideline-generation"); here we call it the tone of voice skill, because you use it for your writing voice.

## What the skill does
The skill reads the examples you supply and pulls the recurring patterns out of them: your tone, your word choice, your sentence length and your standing expressions. The result is a tone of voice profile that you paste into your global settings.

## How to use it
1. Collect five to ten texts that sound the way you want to sound, for example sent emails.
2. Activate the brand voice skill in Claude or Cowork. Search the skill or plugin settings for "brand voice" or "guideline generation".
3. Supply your examples and let the skill draw up your profile.
4. Paste the profile under "My tone of voice" in CLAUDE-global-template.md.

## Which route when
If you have little written material, fill in the blank intake (tone-of-voice-intake.md). If you have a lot of emails, the skill gives a sharper picture faster. The two complement each other.
