# Memory intake: what Claude needs to know about you

Claude's memory holds facts about you: who you are, what you do, for whom and what you are working on. It lives in your account, so it is there in every chat, also on your phone and when your computer is off. Rules do not belong there. How Claude should work and what must never happen go into your global settings and your skills.

## How to fill it

1. Fill in the list below, in the first person, one fact per line.
2. Keep it under 25 lines. Leave out what changes within a month.
3. Do not include details of clients or other people who do not know about it themselves. Memory applies across all your chats and projects.
4. Paste the list into Claude under Settings, Your Claude, at the memory import, and click Add to memory. Then check what Claude made of it.

Starting from an old folder of instructions? Let Claude read that folder once, ask it to pull out only the facts that are still true, let it question you on anything doubtful, and copy the result into this list.
